The Institute of Knowledge (IOK) is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California, United States . This is a Full-Time position within a unique and mission-driven educational organization. IOK offers a diverse range of Islamic educational programmes, including a full-time WASC-accredited school, seminaries, and chaplaincy services for Muslims of all ages. As our IT Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in maintaining and improving the technical infrastructure that supports our online courses, onsite classes, and community events, directly contributing to our mission of fostering a finer future through high-quality education. Key Responsibilities Provide timely and effective first and second-line technical support to all staff, students, and faculty for hardware, software, and network-related issues. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources in accordance with organisational policies. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, and Wi‑Fi. Support audio‑visual equipment in classrooms and for online learning platforms to ensure a seamless educational experience. Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and create clear, concise documentation for systems and procedures. Assist in the implementation of new IT projects and system upgrades. Ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data by following best practices and organisational security protocols. Required Qualifications Proven experience working as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar technical support role. Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems and standard office software. A solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with user account management, preferably within an Active Directory environment. Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a keen attention to detail. Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals. A proactive and self‑motivated approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. A relevant qualification in Information Technology or a related field is highly desirable.
