We're currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician. Candidates must be comfortable working fully onsite in The Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty, KY.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We’re seeking a knowledgeable Desktop Support Technician with a high aptitude for customer service. Candidates must have minimum of two years of experience in desktop support or similar role. This must include installation, troubleshooting, and repair of devices in a windows-based environment. Along with desktop duties the candidate may be required to assist with security cameras, servers, and network switches. This position will provide desktop support to Department of Corrections (DOC) staff within a Correctional Complex but will also interact or be among prison inmates as they are used for work detail.
Qualified candidates must maintain a valid driver’s license and must be able to pass a DOC background check and extensive drug test prior to starting. DOC will hold training that can last up to two to three weeks. This training teaches candidates how to work, adapt, and conduct themselves in a prison atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide desktop support and troubleshoot software issues to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving technical problems promptly.
- Utilize ServiceNow platform for ticket management and efficient workflow.
- Apply computer skills to assist in network configurations and IT infrastructure maintenance.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 2+ years of IT experience as a Desktop Support technician with experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware and software systems, providing general desktop support duties with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Well-versed in computer systems and be able to set up hardware, install and configure software and drivers.
- Assist with security cameras, servers, and network switches.
- Reliable attendance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Computer equipment configuration, setup, and installation.
- Experience in ticketing software (preferably ServiceNow).
- Hardware and software experience.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
