IT Technical Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: On-site
Schedule: Part-Time, Hourly (20–25 hours/week)
Department: IT
Reports To: IT Director

Job Overview

We’re looking for a part-time IT Technical Assistant to help keep our technology running smoothly. If you enjoy troubleshooting, helping others, and working hands-on with computers and systems, this is a great opportunity to build experience in an active, fast-paced environment.

You’ll be the go-to support for everyday IT needs, helping team members stay connected and productive.


What You’ll Do
  • Provide first-level support for computers, operating systems, software, printers, and basic network issues

  • Respond to IT help tickets and document solutions clearly

  • Set up and maintain desktop and laptop computers and approved software

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate repairs when needed

  • Assist with user accounts, access changes, and password resets following security guidelines

  • Follow cybersecurity, data privacy, and acceptable-use policies

  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when appropriate

  • Help track and maintain IT equipment and inventory

  • Provide clear, patient guidance to users on everyday technology tools

  • Support IT projects, system upgrades, or deployments as assigned

  • Occasionally assist outside normal business hours when needed


What Success Looks Like
  • IT requests are handled promptly and professionally

  • Team members have reliable access to the systems they need

  • Technology issues are resolved efficiently, with proper escalation

  • IT equipment is organized and well-maintained

  • Users feel supported and confident using company systems


What We’re Looking For

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and common business software

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Previous IT support or technical assistance experience


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves working with computers and IT equipment and may include sitting or standing for extended periods, using hand tools, lifting or moving IT equipment, accessing equipment under desks or at varying heights, and working in an active environment. Duties may vary by assignment. Reasonable accommodations may be available for qualified individuals.
