Janitor General Maintenance Apply
As part of the Facilities team, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that standards regarding cleanliness, amenities, and maintenance of all three properties is adhered.
Must haves:
- At least 6 months recent work experience
- Maintenance / Janitorial experience
Candidate must understand:
- Work will be conducted in warehouse conditions (not climate controlled.)
- Candidate will present themselves in a professional way
- Candidate must be reliable
Responsibilities:
- Follow weekly/monthly cleaning schedule as provided. Make suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Maintain cleaning stations, janitorial areas & supplies in 5-S manor.
- Responds to facilities maintenance requests within established timelines.
- Inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available and in adequate amounts.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as meetings or banquets.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Repair damaged equipment back to good working order by utilizing mechanical knowledge to problem solve.
- Operate and maintain a wide variety of mechanical tools.
- Minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains, faucets, and toilets, unclogging of drains).
- Electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches, and outlets, incandescent, and fluorescent bulbs, and tubes, ballast, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
- Prepare and paint various structures and equipment (e.g., walls, concrete, doors, restroom facilities, etc.).
- Preform preventative maintenance and repairs on the buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures, and HVAC system.
- Preforms all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of the maintenance team
Qualifications:
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrate general mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
- Knowledgeable in construction and building maintenance.
- Ability to work at heights.
Physical Requirements:
- Will require some outdoor work, exposed to all weather conditions and temperatures.
- Requires giving and/or receiving verbal and written communication.
- Requires using a computer keyboard and mouse to create letters, memoranda, and reports.
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and/or squatting.
- Requires getting into positions such as kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
- Regularly requires carrying objects that are up to 50lbs. by hand.
