This position is open to applicants without NVO experience, but with Admin experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Communicate between client and overseas for booking reports
- Export and Airfreight coordination
- Ability to perform work under time constraints
- Facilitate all aspects of importation of cargo as necessary:
- i.e., arrange door delivery
- arrange customs clearance through network of services.
- Update and complete arrival notices as they are downloaded from our overseas offices.
- Track and trace shipments - keeping customers well informed of any / all changes.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, and other percentages
- Maintain documentation and records according to established company paperless protocol.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to travel and connect between key customers
- Proficient in world geography, shipping documentation, and Incoterms
- An understanding of Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
- Able to take direction from supervisor and superiors.
- Computer knowledge at user level -Use and familiarity of Microsoft Office suite products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience researching problems for customers and proposing well-thought-out solutions
- Responsible for integrating and optimizing ocean shipping and delivery resources, continuously reducing costs, optimizing operational efficiency, and improving profitability.
- As needed, negotiate rates, capacities and establish KPI's pertaining to NVO operations and report weekly/monthly success to management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese in order to present information to customers and management in a professional setting
QUALIFICATIONS/CONDITIONS
EDUCATIONAL | Bachelor's degree (Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, or associate field), or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement. At least 2 years Admin experience. 5+ years of maritime experience with a freight forwarding or third party logistics company is a plus. |
