JAVA Developer (Hybrid)

Java Developer This role will be responsible for developing, configuring and customizing business applications under the guidance of the team lead or a senior JAVA developer. The JAVA Developer will work in a highly collaborative environment as part of an agile delivery team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Code, configure, develop, and debug functionality in core systems in accordance with architectural guidelines and defined best practices under the guidance of a senior developer, this includes: screens, data model, batches. Plan, initiate, and conduct unit and integration testing of applications. Provide accurate and reliable estimates. Consistently deliver work on time and of high quality. Understand and work from business requirements documentation (user stories, use cases, as well as traditional software requirements specifications). As a part of an agile project team, share technical and product knowledge with other team members. Support and troubleshoot production deployments Seek mentoring from senior team members as necessary Required Qualifications: 3+ years of software development experience with object-oriented technologies Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required. Some knowledge of object-oriented design patterns, software architecture concepts, and web application constructs. Experience with object-oriented programming languages and object-oriented architectures. Some understanding of relational database technologies and experience writing SQL queries. Possesses good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to learn how to support production systems Experience working with integrations such as web services or messaging is a plus. Experience working as part of a high pace agile development team is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Guidewire technologies; PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter; required. Knowledge and experience of the Guidewire object model. Experience with both configuration as well as integration within the Guidewire architecture. GOSU development skills. Knowledge and experience with Guidewire typelists, rule sets, plugins, activities and messaging framework. Experience with Microsoft SQL server Certification or Licenses Comparable object-oriented technology certification a plus. Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials. Pay Range: $87,339-$110,042 Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
