Overview We’re currently hiring for an exciting Java Software Developer role. BeaconFire is based in Central NJ, specializing in Software Development, Web Development, and Business Intelligence. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in Software Engineering or Computer Science for a Java/Software Developer position. About the Role The Java / Software Engineer will be responsible for developing applications and writing scalable, secure, maintainable code that powers our clients’ platforms. Job Responsibilities Full Stack Development: Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices. Participate in Agile Scrum team and own the full development lifecycle, including project planning, design, implementation, testing, and optimization. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for applications, APIs, and deployment procedures. Ship to production: APIs, monitoring/observability, cost/performance optimization, CI/CD, and security best practices. Stay up to date with the latest technologies for Java development. AI Integration: Implement RAG pipelines using Spring AI and LangChain4j with vector database integration. Stay up to date with the latest RAG technologies and best practices, including chunking strategies, embeddings, retrieval optimization, and reranking techniques. Requirements Decent understanding of the software development life cycle. Basic programming skills using object‑oriented programming (OOP) languages with in-depth knowledge of common APIs and data structures such as Collections, Maps, lists, Sets, etc. Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and basic SQL query language skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Computer Science (CS). 0-1 year of practical experience in Java coding. Experience using Spring, Maven, React.js, HTML, CSS. Knowledge of other contemporary Java technologies such as Weblogic, RabbitMQ, Tomcat, etc. Basic understanding of AI/LLM concepts. Spring AI or LangChain4j experience. RAG application building or vector database experience. Compensation $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year.
