Java DeveloperLocation: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)Salary: Up to £60,000 + BonusNOTE: Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (5 years continuous UK residency required).We are hiring a Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering secure, enterprise-scale solutions within a complex and regulated environment.You will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of modular microservices using modern Java frameworks. Working within an Agile Scrum environment, you will collaborate closely with technical leads, cloud engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software aligned to enterprise standards.Key responsibilities include:Developing backend services using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring BootBuilding and maintaining microservices architecturesIntegrating with enterprise middleware platforms such as WebLogic and secure integration frameworksSupporting deployments into secure public cloud environments (AWS), leveraging containerisationContributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practicesApplying engineering best practices including TDD, code reviews, and consistent branching strategiesParticipating in sprint ceremonies including planning, refinement, and retrospectivesRequired ExperienceMinimum 2+ years of commercial Java development experienceStrong experience with Java and Spring BootUnderstanding of RESTful services and microservices architectureExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsExposure to CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or SonarQubeFamiliarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS) and container technologiesUnderstanding of secure development practicesIf you are a motivated Java developer who thrives in secure, enterprise-scale environments and wants to build resilient cloud-native systems, apply today.
