Conduct detailed assessments of the existing Teradata environment (e.g., schemas, data models, stored procedures, ETL/ELT logic, BTEQ scripts, performance tuning, and security) to determine migration complexity. Define the target state architecture in Snowflake, leveraging its unique capabilities (e.g., virtual warehouses, clustering, Snowpipe, data sharing, time travel, semi-structured data handling). Technical Execution & Leadership Lead the conversion of complex Teradata SQL, stored procedures, functions, and utilities (e.g., BTEQ, TPT, MLOAD, FLOAD) to equivalent Snowflake SQL and procedures (e.g., SnowSQL, Tasks, Streams, Snowpipe, Python/Snowpark). Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, and BI teams to redesign and optimize data models (Dimensional, Data Vault, etc.) for the Snowflake platform. Performance & Optimization Translate and apply Teradata performance tuning concepts (e.g., Primary Index, Secondary Index, PPI, Join Strategies) to Snowflake optimization techniques (e.g., micro-partitions, clustering keys, query optimization, and virtual warehouse sizing). Conduct rigorous performance testing and validation in Snowflake against Teradata benchmarks to ensure superior or equivalent query response times. Governance & Documentation Define and implement Snowflake security, governance, and access control (RBAC) models that map effectively to the existing Teradata security structure. Exceptional Snowflake Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Snowflake architecture (Cloud Services, Compute, Storage layers), advanced features, SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and performance optimization in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong scripting skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Shell, or Java) for automation and ETL/ELT processes. Experience utilizing automated migration tools (e.g., SnowConvert, Next Pathway SHIFT). Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Snowflake Certifications (e.g., SnowPro Advanced Architect, SnowPro Core). Experience with modern ETL/ELT tools that integrate with both Teradata and Snowflake (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Matillion, or Fivetran). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for setting up networking, storage (S3, ADLS, GCS), and security for Snowflake environments. Experience with BI tools and how they connect to and are impacted by the migration from Teradata to Snowflake. #J-18808-Ljbffr
