Job Responsibilities

35% Under administrative direction, serves as a JEE/DB2 WIA IT Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO):

  • Performs complex professional and advisory functions related to applications services
  • Designs, develops, and maintains the online entry, edit, inquiry, output, and utility functions for the agencys statewide web-based Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS) application
  • Enhances and maintains functions and reports for the Automation of Compliance Monitoring Events System (ACME) to support desk and field monitoring of Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Trade grantees
  • Troubleshoots and investigates IWDS and ACME system related issues
  • Provides guidance, issue resolution, and support for fulfilling data collection, calculation, and reporting requirements for the US Department of Labor Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) required performance measures and statewide Performance Management System (PMS)
  • Reviews federal and state policy, guidance, and instruction documents related to the Illinois WIA and Trade environments for the identification and development of required system change specifications

  • Manages and deploys IWDS application Enterprise Archive (EAR) files after revisions to the online code base using ANT to produce EAR files
