Learn More About Energy Systems Job Purpose Enersys is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Technician II to join our growing team! In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates at peak performance. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective on-site service, maintenance, and equipment repair. You will play a key role in supporting critical infrastructure, focusing on our Energy Systems solutions for telecommunications, data centers, utilities, and other essential services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Field Service Expertise: Travel to customer sites to perform basic installation, preventative maintenance, and basic repair of battery equipment. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and diagnose common technical issues, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment. Provide on-site technical assistance and training to customers on the safe operation of their equipment. Customer Focus: Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and professional service. Effectively communicate with customers to understand their needs, explain technical details, and resolve concerns. Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure customer satisfaction. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards. Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Complete all required safety and compliance training. Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions. Complete timely reports, including service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts. Manage company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment. Qualifications Minimum 1 ½years of field service experience in electrical, telecom, or energy-related fields Basic understanding of electrical systems and test equipment (Aptitude exam is part of application process; 70% passing score required) Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics and manuals. Solid communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for insurability. Availability to work non-standard hours in a 24/7 work week. Ability to lift 75 lbs. and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces Ability to perform physical tasks, such as bending, stooping, and kneeling. General Job Requirements Must be able and willing to do overnight travel This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company's driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements. Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch. Must be able to differentiate colors. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee. Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able and willing to be on-call. Must be able and willing to work overtime. Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays. Risk of electrical shock.
