Job : Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst - Expert

Location: Remote; Preferably onsite in Minnesota (MN).

Duration: Long Term.

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst - Expert will be responsible for writing test plans, creating and automating test scripts, executing tests, and tracking defects using established QA tools, processes, and methodologies. This role requires advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to validate processes, resolve complex issues, and ensure high product quality and value delivery across various products, projects, or services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate innovative thinking and practical, real-world implementation skills to drive quality improvements.

Essential Functions

  • Adhere to Patterson's established QA standards, processes, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product Owners to review feature designs.
  • Analyze Product Backlog Items (PBIs) to develop test plan documentation.
  • Create and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts to validate application performance.
  • Innovate and develop automation solutions to reduce test execution cycles, increase coverage, and improve product quality.
  • Ensure testing activities align with business requirements, end-user expectations, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate on various types of testing (e.g., system, unit, regression, load, acceptance).
  • Validate integration of new software with company systems and its compliance with functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Review requirements and test cases to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Track, report, and resolve defects identified during testing.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics.
  • Collect and analyze data to improve software processes and integrate improvements into workflows.
  • Mentor QA team members and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Recommend new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance quality assurance processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related QA field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of experience in quality assurance and testing applications.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring, driving process improvements, and making strategic decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of QA best practices, methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience testing desktop, web, cloud, and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency with SQL scripting, ad hoc queries, and automated testing tools such as Postman, Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments using application lifecycle management tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., Kentico).
  • Knowledge of Multifactor Authentication and Azure Active Directory B2C.
  • Understanding of GIT repository management and branching strategies.
  • Exposure to truck-based development testing practices.
