Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Front End Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement scripts, programs, models, algorithms, and processes using structured and unstructured data from diverse sources. This role involves generating actionable insights to support strategy development, process improvements, and product enhancements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership throughout the development lifecycle, focusing on continuous improvement in data science practices and solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data science professionals and domain experts to develop solutions aligned with business needs in the electric and gas utility sectors.
• Gather, clean, transform, and optimize data from disparate sources to prepare it for analysis.
• Develop and maintain back-end data solutions, ensuring compatibility with front-end applications and wider organizational requirements.
• Design and implement user-friendly products and tools for the Meteorology Department and broader company usage.
• Document data sources, methodologies, and model evaluation metrics to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
• Utilize development technologies such as Git, Python, and AWS infrastructure to create robust, scalable solutions.
• Work independently while actively collaborating with other developers and stakeholders to meet project goals.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or a related discipline, OR equivalent experience.

Desired:

• Graduate Degree in a job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 7+ year of experience in the utility industry.

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in data engineering, analytics, and visualization.
• Experience with development tools and platforms like Python, Git, and AWS.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing independent tasks.
