We are a leading transportation company committed to excellence in service, safety, and sustainability. Our fleet is the heartbeat of our operations, and we're seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead the charge in keeping it running smoothly.
Fleet Maintenance Manager Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Spearhead effective support management for all fleet and maintenance activities, emphasizing cost control, personnel development, and adherence to safety standards.
Collaborative Culture: Foster collaboration among division personnel, working closely with Operations Management to ensure optimal performance and cost management throughout the company.
Innovative Maintenance: Manage scheduled preventive maintenance for all equipment, supporting two satellite sites and overseeing the maintenance of Yellow Iron equipment.
Vendor Relationships: Leverage purchasing volume to negotiate the best prices on parts and repairs from vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance: Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, environmental health regulations, and other applicable standards.
Team Management: Lead a dedicated team, including a supervisor, night lead, and parts clerk, ensuring a high level of productivity and safety.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of short- and long-range planning activities for fleet maintenance operations.
Continuous Improvement: Implement systems to effectively utilize vehicle management systems and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop.
Fleet Maintenance Manager Qualifications:
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to coach, train, and motivate teams to achieve goals.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to run and evaluate reports, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, HAZMAT, C.A.R.B., SWPPP, and CUPA compliance requirements.
Customer Focus: Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of management experience in a service-driven environment, with expertise in leading supervisory staff and hourly employees.
