Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems. 

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities 

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Execute electrical wiring plans for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems. 
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems. 
  • Install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.) 
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components. 
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them. 
  • Prevent system breakdown by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc. 
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. 

 

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills 

Required: 

  • Five years of electrical experience in commercial, industrial, or residential. 
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and making repairs promptly. 
  • Proficient in installing electrical panel systems, conduit, wiring, and fixtures. 
  • Proficient in working with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment. 

 

License/Certification 

Preferred:  

  • Journeyman Electrician License (preferred). 
  • Valid Driver’s License. 

 

Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to identify wires accurately. 
  • Ability to perform electrical tests, read results, and diagnose and repair electrical problems. 
  • Problem-solving. 
  • Critical thinking.  
  • Circuit knowledge. 
  • Time management.

  • Must be able to move or lift more than 75 lbs. 
  • Travel may be required per project, which needs 20-30%. 
  • Occasionally extended hours and overtime may be required to meet workload demands. 
  • Proficiency in operating aerial lift equipment is required.
