General Function Use a range of methods, including forecasting and data mining, to examine and interpret data. Implement OR techniques for consistent, predictive analysis to identify WS risks, issues, and opportunities. Identify and track WS’s, including constituent systems, risks, issues, and opportunities. Communicate effectively, writing memos, reports, and other documents, often presenting data and conclusions to managers and executives. Convey technical information in a way understandable to non‑technical audiences. Present results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users. Employ strong critical‑thinking skills to organize information and connect ideas and facts. Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve various problems and clarify management objectives. Work with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions. Apply interpersonal skills to work in teams, persuading managers and executives to accept recommendations. Use mathematical skills to create models and methods for appropriate research, grounded in statistics, calculus, linear algebra, and other disciplines. Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and numerical parameters. Diagnose problems and study relevant information to solve them. Validate and test models to ensure adequacy and reformulate as necessary. Utilize and tailor identified risks for implementation into the WS Worthiness Assessment (WWA) process. Aggregate and document the results of RIO analysis for presentation to AFNWC/NC leadership for situational awareness and decision‑making support. Support WS lead Command, and program offices as directed. Provide SME as required to AFNWC/NCW Division leadership and others within the AN/USQ‑225 WS stakeholder community as directed. Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. Possess sufficient knowledge of applied mathematics to understand and use the fundamental concepts and techniques of operations research methods of analysis. Collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, services, or products, as needed. Develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation. Develop, manage, and execute processes for assessing the WS ability to execute assigned missions. Qualifications Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills Accredited BA Degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject‑matter courses requiring substantial competence in college‑level mathematics or statistics, and 3‑10 years of relevant experience. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science. Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Top‑Secret/SCI level. Must be able to work on high‑visibility or mission‑critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independently. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook). Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required.
