Position Title: Journeyman Operations Research Analyst (RISC) Requisition Number: SEC-26-00001 Location: Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $84,000-114,000 Telework: Yes - When Authorized/Hybrid About the Role The Journeyman Operations Research Analyst (Risk Identification and Security Countermeasure/RISC) will support a security focused cross‑functional capability that searches and consolidates information from multiple sources to identify potential risks associated with AFRL's intellectual property, programs, and personnel. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Support science and technology (S&T) managers and engineers while empowering AFRL leaders to make informed risk management decisions. Assist mitigating the adversary's impact on the technological advantage. Inform and educate the AFRL workforce on these potential risks. Function as a senior‑level analyst in the field of risk analysis to support AFRL and the RISC mission. Perform security reviews and produce written and oral reports identifying risks and briefing to AFRL, USAF, and DoD entities. A non‑disclosure must be signed. Assist with proposal development, if necessary. Perform other duties, as assigned. Experience Requirements Five (5) years' related experience desired. Experience with risk management and security policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter‑relationships of the national security, IC, DoD, and USAF. Knowledge of the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world as well as security‑related R&D threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and other US resources. Knowledge of the full range of security research methods, techniques, and practices and advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze complex multi‑source information to produce detailed security capabilities and risk assessments, identify security deficiencies, and advocate for customer requirements. The ability to present the information verbally or orally when such information is requested. Education Requirements AA/AS or BA/BS Degree desired. Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements May be required to obtain one (1) of the following certifications within six (6) months of hire: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) Security Professional Education Development Certification (SPED) Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) Other Required Skills & Abilities Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Expert in producing finished security reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings. Skilled in handling, storing, and disseminating classified data in accordance with established DoD procedures. Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implications of such data; to make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment, experience and recognized professional standing; and to present and argue for a position effectively.
