Malace|HR is seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Plumber to support maintenance operations at a prestigious college campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with local plumbing codes and standards. This is a full-time, on-site role with standard daytime hours and participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair plumbing systems including pipes, valves, fixtures, drainage systems, and water heaters.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and related infrastructure.

  • Install new plumbing systems and components as needed.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes.

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable laws, codes, and safety regulations.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe and proper working condition.

  • Accurately document work orders, service reports, and materials used.

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls during assigned on-call rotation.

  • Collaborate with other maintenance and facilities staff to ensure smooth campus operations.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Journeyman Plumber License (TDLR-required).

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of plumbing experience, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and materials.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical work in varying environments.

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred.

  • This position is based on a large college campus in Galveston, TX.
