Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Jr Accountant, located in Iselin NJ.

Junior Accountant is a professional who provides support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. Our ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running, work within a team environment and take initiative when needed.

· Prepare journal entries to ensure business transactions are properly recorded

· Update financial data in a timely and accurate manner

· Reconcile account balances and bank statements

· Maintain accuracy of general ledger for assigned areas of responsibility

· Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results

• Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status
• Analyze accounts to prepare variance explanations and flux analysis
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Assist with audits on union benefits, insurance, accounting, etc.
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare Sales and Gross Profit Reports and review with Product Managers
• Review Accounts Receivable and take any necessary collection actions
• Prepare weekly billing summary for large customers
• Assist with Accounts Payable processing and related intercompany allocations
• Become a reliable backup for critical tasks of other accounting team members
• As needed, assist with other accounting projects

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

· 1-3 years of basic accounting experience

· General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

· Solid understanding of financial accounting statements

· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

· Hands-on experience with ERP accounting software packages

· NetSuite experience a plus

· Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills

· Must combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Must Have Permanent Work Authorization in the US
