Reporting to the Sales Director, this role is responsible for managing sales activities across North America, focusing on building strong customer relationships with engineering companies and end users. The Junior Area Sales Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to meet revenue targets, grow the customer base, and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Job Title: Junior Area Sales Manager

Salary: 60k 100k

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve growth and sales targets by managing the assigned territory and customers.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs.
  • Present sales reports, revenue, expense forecasts, and realistic projections to management.
  • Execute company strategies to ensure revenue growth and market leadership within the region.
  • Set objectives, coach, and monitor performance of sales representatives.
  • Handle Requests for Quotations (RFQs), generate bids, and negotiate purchase orders to meet sales goals in a competitive market.
  • Attend industry conferences and organize promotional events like symposiums and seminars.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and gather customer feedback through market research.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and monitor the competitive landscape.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Business studies with a focus on sales are a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Pisa), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet applications.

Professional Experience:

  • Previous experience in industrial sales (preferably in Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas Downstream, or a related field) is an advantage.

Behavioral Skills:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interface at various corporate levels.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver high-quality sales presentations that resonate with decision-makers.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, networking, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with the Inside Sales Team.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with emotional control and resilience in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of information and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Availability to travel within North America at least 50% of the time.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and conferences.
