Volunteers are an essential part of Williamson Health. A caring smile, compassionate heart, and willingness to serve are some of the things that we look for in volunteers. By sharing their time and talents, volunteers enhance the care we provide to our patients and visitors.
Listed below are some of the areas that volunteers serve:
Both youth and adult applicants are chosen based on application, interview and availability. Due to the time invested in orienting and training new volunteers, we require a minimum commitment of five months or 50 hours of service.
Positions and Duties
Information Desk
oGreet and provide information, answer phones, discharge/transport patients in wheelchairs
oDesk options include, Tower Entrances, Bone & Joint Institute & Patient Registration
Emergency Department
oInteract with families & keep supplies stocked
Gift Shop
oOperate cash register, assist customers & stock items
Schedules
Monday-Friday 8 am to 12 noon
12 noon to 4 pm
Weekends/Evenings in the Emergency Department
Qualifications
oMust be mature and have sound judgement - age 16 & 17.
oPositive, cooperative attitude, mature judgement, friendly/outgoing disposition, engaging and demonstrated interest in assisting people.
oMust be able to meet and greet the public and relate to all people.
oPosition involves standing, walking and ability to push wheelchairs.
Training
General Orientation and on-the-job training provided by Volunteer Services Manager and trained volunteers.

- Emergency Department
- Gift Shop
- Meeter/Greeter at entrances
- Transport patients by wheelchair
Both youth and adult applicants are chosen based on application, interview and availability. Due to the time invested in orienting and training new volunteers, we require a minimum commitment of five months or 50 hours of service.
- You must commit to one (2) hour shift per week with a minimum of 12 hours per month.
- Summer only volunteers must commit to (8) weeks with one (4) hour shift per week.
