Design Centre Asia (DCA) is part of the Sony Design global network and is one of four design studios located worldwide, reporting to the Creative Center (headquarters) in Tokyo, Japan. Take on design projects independentlyCarry out design work in a self-directed manner, under the guidance of the Head of Experience Design departmentDeliver works for all stages of the design process such as concept creation, design visualization, engineering study and design developmentDemonstrate strong manufacturing knowledge and participate in technical discussions with engineering teams2. Responsible for the quality of design outputProduce outstanding design solutions and variations that communicates clearly and aligns with Sony’s design philosophy3. Responsible for time management of projectsPlan and manage project schedules independentlyProactively arrange review meetings with mentors/managers in a timely mannerDeliver work on or before pre-agreed deadlines4. Communication with stakeholdersWork collaboratively with other designers, engineers, project managers, and colleagues from diverse nationalities and backgroundsCommunicate design ideas, concepts and strategies clearly and effectively to team members and stakeholders5. Continuous learning to widen scope beyond own expertiseActively pick up new skills and tools through formal and informal learning to expand individual capabilityApply newly acquired skills to ongoing projects, enabling the team to support a wider scope of workRequirements:BA or Diploma in Industrial Design or related studiesA minimum of 2 years of professional industrial design experienceProficiency in 3D parametric modelling and design software (Siemens NX, Keyshot, Blender)3D computer graphics/animation/video editing, digital interactive content knowledge (programming, project mapping, sensors & technologies), motion graphics, interior/event/space design, UI/UX design, business development & sales will be a plusExpert proficiency in leading design software (Adobe Creative Suite)Ability to complete assignments through many rounds of refinementAble to work independently with some supervisionDetail-oriented and highly organizedDesire for continual learning and self-improvementDesign for consumer electronics industry a plusOpen to Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents onlyWhat will help you succeed:1.
