Junior Accountant Job Summary
We are looking for a focused, smart, and industrious junior accountant to join our growing team. As a junior accountant, you will provide vital support to the senior accountant to help streamline the company's financial processes. Junior Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain ledger; record and document company financial transactions as instructed
Oversee bank reconciliations and balance financial records
Update vendor information
Keep up updated budgets; handle monthly Journal Entries preparation, and confirm expense vouchers, invoices and purchase orders
Assist in the preparation to present regular reports about company finances including budgets, debts, deficits, expenditures, and revenue and various analysis
Review data to ensure that proper procedures are being followed
Conduct or assist with fixed asset audits
Calculate taxes and prepare tax returns in compliance with payment and reporting regulations
Identify and resolve financial discrepancies
Assist the accounts payables department with payables daily entry and approval tasks
Utilize database management systems to maintain up-to-date record keeping of financial documents
Predict future revenue and expenses through a detailed analysis of current and past trends in costs, financial commitments, revenues, and trends
Provide feedback to supervisors regarding budget forecasts, resource utilization, analysis of accounts and tax strategies
Junior Accountant Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business, finance, math, or a related field
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables
Familiarity with accounting software such as Intuit QuickBooks, SAP, and Mass will help
Familiarity with Deacom software preferred
Education and Knowledge of GAP required
Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to company accounts
Perform accurate work to the highest standards of accountancy
Able to complete work to deadlines with little direct supervision
Driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
Strong critical thinking and mathematical reasoning skills
Superior verbal communication skills
