Junior Database Administrator SBA Communications has been a pillar of the wireless industry since 1989 and is a publicly traded global leader. We operate a network of over 46,000 communication sites in more than 10 countries, providing essential infrastructure that connects millions of users worldwide. Primary Responsibilities Assist in daily monitoring of database health, performance, and availability across on‑premises and cloud environments. Support routine database backup operations and participate in recovery drills under supervision. Log and track database‑related issues, escalating complex problems to senior team members. Help identify and resolve basic performance bottlenecks such as slow‑running queries. Follow established security protocols and compliance requirements (SOX, segregation of duties, etc.). Assist in generating routine reports and maintaining reporting environments (SSRS, Oracle BI). Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Work closely with developers, senior DBAs, and IT support to resolve user issues and support business initiatives. Participate in training sessions, webinars, and team meetings to build technical expertise. Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the Manager of Database Engineering. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or an equivalent field. 0–2 years of experience managing and supporting SQL Server. Preferred: Certifications in SQL Server or Azure Data fundamentals. Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Fundamentals or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals. Physical Demands Ability to stoop, bend, kneel or crouch; stand, walk, and sit; reach with hands and arms; visual ability correctable to 20/20; sit up to 90% of the day; respond verbally in a professional manner in person and over the telephone; manual dexterity to input data; ability to lift up to 15 pounds. Work Environment Office or cubicle workspace with moderate noise level.
