We are looking for a Junior Designer to join the team!  The Junior Designer is a member of the Design Team that assists with the architectural, interior, industrial, and/or experiential design process per the client’s wants and needs and at the direction of the VP of Design. This role will focus on generating schematic designs and presentations as well as the construction of virtual environments using a variety of programs. This position will also collaborate with team members creatively, efficiently, and with a high degree of attention to detail in order to deliver fully rendered designs per client and Leadership specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s of Architecture or Degree in industrial Design preferred 
  • Minimum professional experience of at least 2-3 years, can include an internship. 
  • 2-3 years of 3D Modeling experience for fabrication. 
  • 2-3 years experience in Adobe Suite.  
  • Rhino and Adobe platforms software experience required
  • Rendering software experience required, such as V Ray or other
  • Grasshopper experience preferred but not required
  • Able to produce quality and organized drawings / details and 3d models 
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally to internal teams, clients, and vendors
  • Able to concisely document communication with clients and manage their expectations
  • Ability to pivot into different projects that are in different stages/phases
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits professionalism, particularly when meeting or interacting with clients, vendors, or other employees. 
  • Meticulous organizational skills
  • Flexible time management
  • Able to work late nights and weekends as required

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting construction design documents and schematic design documents for various clients and projects; Parallel processing multiple jobs at one time, all at the direction of the VP of Design
  • Assist with concept and design development/strategy per client wants and needs, but also within the constraints of realistic fabrication and installation
  • Produce renderings for various projects that are presentation quality 
  • Collaborates with Design Engineering, Director of Fabrication and Shop Leads to generate shop drawings and case work details 
  • Conduct background research for early development design concepts on clients, products, industry, and anything else relevant to the design request
  • Prepare presentation documents for both client and internal use, using google slides 
  • Assist with material selection and product selection for client review
  • Site survey for documentation of existing conditions for projects
  • Shop drawings for shop team to have accurate dimensions to build; Being accountable for these dimensions and sizes
  • Graphic design work for internal and external clients. All under the supervision of VP of Design
  • Other additional duties and functions may include: 
    • Digital Fabrication as needed, such as 3D modeling for cnc and 3D printing as well as creating scaled models / mockups
    • Assist in correspondence between clients when needed
    • Utilizing the grasshopper plugin for Rhino 
    • Other duties as assigned by the VP of Design, members of the sales team, and/or the CEO and Owner

  • Accomplishing tasks within allotted time

Compensation:

$60k-$70k, commensurate with experience
