Overview The Jr. GL Accountant/Costpoint System Administrator will work closely with the Director of Accounting and Corporate Accounting Manager, supporting financial reporting, developing the corporate budget, and supporting all external audits. This position will assist in maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP, FAR and DCAA guidelines. The position will also work closely with the Director of Accounting to support the administration of SA’s Deltek Costpoint ERP system.
Responsibilities Prepare and enter journal entries for accruals and cash entries.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and research discrepancies.
Assist with month-end divisional financial reports to ensure timely month-end close.
Assist with year-end budget process and data entry in Costpoint.
Support external audit processes and compile data for external auditors.
Work with internal accounting/finance members to resolve issues and maintain proper documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards (GAAP).
Support Director of Accounting and the Corporate Accounting Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Maintain and support subcontractor and consultant authentication records allowing login to Costpoint; monitor the Costpoint help email account for support tickets.
Ensure employee, subcontractor and consultant licenses are deactivated in a timely manner and manage the process of reviewing license requirements.
Diagnose Time and Expense system issues when users are unable to complete their tasks. Support the Payroll and Accounts Payable staff with any Costpoint issues.
Submit Deltek support tickets as needed and follow up with resolutions.
Diagnose issues with jobs that run in the background.
Work with the Corporate Accounting Manager to create the budget templates each year in Costpoint.
Proficiency in GAAP and government-specific accounting standards (DCAA).
Knowledge and understanding of government contracting regulations (FAR, CAS, etc.).
Experience with government accounting software systems (Costpoint, Oracle, etc.).
Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with strong time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing task prioritization.
Strong MS Office skills, with advanced Excel skills.
