Position Overview: The Junior Hedge Fund Operations Analyst will support the operations team in managing and streamlining daily fund operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in trade processing, reconciliation, and reporting. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow within the hedge fund industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily processing and settlement of trades across various asset classes.
  • Reconcile trading activity and positions with counterparties, brokers, and custodians.
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in trade data, cash balances, and positions.
  • Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of fund performance and attribution reports.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and other departments to address operational issues and streamline processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of trade confirmations, contracts, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of new systems or processes.
  • Provide support during audits and regulatory reporting requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of financial markets, instruments, and hedge fund operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with financial software or trading platforms is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or work experience in financial services or hedge fund operations.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA) is advantageous.
