Position Summary

Open Range is seeking a motivated and creative Junior Interior Designer to join our team. In this role, you will support senior designers in bringing innovative design concepts to life for various projects, including residential, commercial, and hospitality interiors. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience and develop their design skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of design concepts, presentations, and materials for client proposals.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and project teams to execute design plans, including space planning, materials selection, and finish specifications.
  • Create digital renderings and visual presentations using design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Conduct research on design trends, materials, and products to support project development.
  • Prepare design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and detail drawings.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews to gather client feedback and requirements.
  • Assist in sourcing furnishings, finishes, and accessories for projects, ensuring quality and aesthetic alignment with design intent.
  • Support project management tasks, including maintaining schedules and tracking design revisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, design technology, and sustainability practices.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in interior design or a related field, including internships or academic projects.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, interior materials, finishes, and construction methods.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong creative eye and a passion for design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
