Job Description:
This role supports a cybersecurity engineering team responsible for enabling and optimizing security and compliance controls for Copilot for Microsoft 365. The team is seeking a CyberSecurity Engineer with hands‑on Microsoft 365 security experience, strong email and SaaS security knowledge, and a development‑focused mindset to help drive automation and secure‑by‑default guardrails.
Role Overview
The CyberSecurity Engineer assists in designing, configuring, validating, and operationalizing security and compliance controls across Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 workloads. The position also supports broader email and SaaS security operations, troubleshooting across multiple platforms, and creating documentation for internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Support readiness assessments for Microsoft Purview, including DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, eDiscovery, Insider Risk, Communication Compliance, and SharePoint/Teams governance
• Assist with development of automated guardrails and continuous improvement processes to address configuration gaps
• Conduct research, analysis, and solution validation across Microsoft security and compliance technologies
• Troubleshoot incidents, integration issues, and service disruptions across SaaS Security Posture Management, Email SEG, CASB, and related security tools
• Collaborate with lead engineers, IT platform teams, cybersecurity partners, end users, and vendor support
• Produce clear documentation to support operational knowledge transfer
Must‑Have Skills
• Development and automation experience (Python or PowerShell preferred)
• Email and SaaS security experience
• Hands‑on Microsoft 365 security experience
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Microsoft Purview features: DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, audit
• Background with SaaS Security Posture Management, Email SEG, and CASB tools
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, MITRE, and CIS Benchmarks
• Experience with Windows, Mac, Linux, and cloud or virtual environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
