We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our team. This position offers an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully in a supportive environment.
As an Associate Attorney, you will take on three key responsibilities:
- Learning the Criminal Defense Practice
- Represent clients in traffic offenses, minor criminal cases, and criminal record expungements.
- Gain hands-on experience while developing the foundational skills necessary for a successful career in criminal defense.
- Supporting the Legal Team
- Assist other attorneys by appearing in court to cover cases as needed.
- Provide critical support to ensure seamless and effective client representation across the firm.
- Supporting Partner Stefanie Murphy
- Work closely with Partner Stefanie Murphy, assisting with the representation of both criminal defense and family law clients.
- Handle a range of legal matters, offering direct client interaction and case involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research and develop effective case strategies.
- Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials.
- Build strong professional relationships with clients, providing clear communication and guidance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of case files, client communications, and court proceedings.
- Stay informed on legal trends to ensure up-to-date and effective client representation.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Requirements
- Education: Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- License: Active admission to the Rhode Island Bar (required).
