This is a full-time, 10-month position reporting to the Lower School Principal.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community. 
  • Delivery of the curriculum through classroom teaching.  
  • Ensure high-quality education and the most engaging experience for students. 
  • Collaborate with the Early Childhood Team. 
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to implement the kindergarten curriculum. 
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. 
  • Maintain confidentiality with student information and records. 
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and carpool 

 

Requirements

  • Experience in Early Childhood education 
  • Ability to work well with Early Childhood students 
  • Ability to collaborate with other teachers and assistants 
  • Experience with technology, including both iPads and Microsoft products 
  • Educational philosophy that aligns with the mission and vision of Indian Creek School
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Ability to collaborate and maintain a positive relationship with an assistant teacher 
  • Strong communication skills 

Working Conditions: 

  • Environment: 
    • School environment including indoor and outdoor activities 
    • Playground and outdoor activities

  • Physical Demands: 
    • Read handwritten documents and other records or reports 
    • Exchange information in person, by computer, or on the telephone 
    • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time  
    • Some light lifting, carrying, bending 
    • Mobility to ensure supervision of students both in and outside of the building, including on playground equipment and on field trips 

Benefits

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's years of experience at an educational institution and prior administrative experience and responsibilities. Candidates will be offered a competitive salary and are exempt from overtime within the range of $35,000 - $48,000 (prorated based off start date) dependent on experience.   

In addition to the annual salary, Indian Creek School offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life insurance, critical illness and accident coverage, and both short- and long-term disability for the employee and their eligible dependents.   We offer a 403 (b) retirement plan with employer match to help you plan for the future. PTO includes vacation, sick, holiday, and parental/family leave.
