SUMMARY

Oakwood School is seeking a full time kindergarten assistant teacher from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position is for the 2024-2025 school year beginning in August 2024.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support classroom teacher with group and individual instruction
• Plan, supervise, and implement the afterschool curriculum
• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities
• Demonstrate patience, respect, and a commitment to families and children
• Participate in all school events
• Help maintain classroom and school
• Ability to be flexible, reliable, and punctual
• Support and follow school policies and procedures
• Be a positive and contributing member of the Oakwood community
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion to work with children and their families
• Candidates must be willing to be trained in CPR and First Aid or currently certified
• We are seeking people who are self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic team players

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 24 ECE units required 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Ability to see, hear, and speak to exchange information in a proficient manner
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, bend, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-30 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement
• Ability to reach overhead and horizontally
• Ability to work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time
• Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear 
• Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations on campus 
• Moderate to loud noise levels
• Occasional to frequent interruptions
  
  

COMPENSATION

This position has an expected pay scale of $22.00-$27.00 an hour depending on prior experience, education, and job requirements.
