Kitchen Supervisor Apply
Skywalker is seeking a talented and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for a variety of unique events. The Kitchen Supervisor will play a crucial role in menu development, demonstrating creativity and innovation while collaborating with our culinary team.
The ideal candidate will be resourceful and capable of effectively managing service for quickly-paced lunch service for up to 150 guests. Flexibility is essential, as the Kitchen Supervisor will create fast-paced, quality meals for staff and guests. There will be times that this position will help support the banquet team for events of up to 500 ppl.
This role requires a cross-functional culinary expert with hands-on knowledge across various cuisines. The Kitchen Supervisor will actively participate in food preparation and presentation, consistently striving to elevate the quality and artistry of our offerings.
Core Work Duties:
- Establish and oversee service offerings for daily lunch services.
- Lead production, food safety, menu development, costing, and recipe testing,, while accommodating dietary requests and restrictions.
- Utilize interpersonal skills to lead, motivate, and support kitchen team members.
- Train kitchen associates on cooking fundamentals and plate presentation.
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging mutual trust and respect.
- Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure fair treatment of employees and address concerns through an open-door policy.
- Assist in identifying staffing needs and fill gaps as necessary
- Engage with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service, addressing any issues or complaints promptly.
- Communicate safety procedures and ensure adherence to food handling and sanitation standards; oversee employee certifications in these areas.
- Monitor the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met, and determine appropriate presentation and decorative displays
- maintain purchasing and food storage standards.
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods for both regular service and special functions, demonstrating a commitment to superior quality and flavor.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of previous supervisory/management experience in a kitchen.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in coaching staff and contractors to achieve an environment of cooperation, service, teamwork, and trust.
Required Skills / Competencies:
- Demonstrated positive, strong customer service interest, skills, and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team.
- High level of flexibility, and ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
