1st Shift
Starting at $27.00 an hour

Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision. Typical job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.

Description:
Duties range from minor trailer repairs to complete rebuild/refurbishment primarily underneath trailers, including brakes, cams, slack adjusters, and electrical systems. Must have experience with DOT inspections and regulations. The associate will also be required to keep his or her work areas and equipment in compliance with all safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • The Associate will work in a safe manner while wearing the appropriate safety equipment and reporting any unsafe condition or act.
  • The Associate will be responsible for their area of the Shop for housekeeping and organization and will utilize clean up time assigned at the end of each day to do so.
  • The Associate will be on the job as scheduled for start, stop and break times and accurately fill out the proper information on a Job Slip at the end of each day.
  • The Associate will conduct themselves according to the Policies of the Company as provided in the Handbook including attendance, smoking, breaks, clean up, vacation, PTO, cell phones, etc.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years or more trailer mechanic experience
  • Familiar with ABS Systems
  • Ability to work on Brakes, cams, slack adjusters, and electrical systems
  • Experience with DOT Inspection and Regulations
  • Use of all presses, hand and power tools and read a tape measure
  • Basic Math & Measurement aptitude
  • Problem solving skills
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs continuously.
  • Criminal Background Check & Drug screen
  • Diploma/GED
  • Pre-employment Screening
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity
  • Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, climb, twist and/or crawl
  • Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level, vibration, dust and fumes
  • Self-managed and Motivated
  • Read, write, speak, listen, and understand work instructions.
  • PPE: Steel-toes, hearing protection, and safety glasses required at all times
