Job Title Lab Technician Job Description Join a leading company in agricultural processing and food ingredient provision as a Lab Technician. You will work within the quality team to perform essential laboratory analysis and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks required for refinery analysis. This role is vital in ensuring products meet high standards for food, animal feed, and industrial uses. Responsibilities Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for production, pollution control, and quality control. Test and analyze products such as feed, beverages, and industrial alcohol to ensure they meet plant specifications prior to release. Release vessels that meet specifications and report those that do not. Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters and beerstills, and report any uncharacteristic results. Document test results and readings in logbooks and in the Total Lab Client (TLC) system. Complete certificates of analysis for product validation. Prepare chemical solutions for laboratory use. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and related field instruments. Adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA, and company standards and guidelines. Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific Discipline is preferred. If lacking a Scientific Degree, 2-3+ years of hands‑on industry laboratory experience is required. At least 1 year of laboratory, quality, and GMP experience. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, with a desire for overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree in Food Science is a plus. Experience in the Food & Beverage industry is advantageous. Work Environment This position involves working on‑site at a regulated environment. The lab is small, fast‑paced, and consists of four lab technicians. Instrumentation includes NIR, pH meters, ovens, and other industry‑specific equipment. Candidates must be flexible for shift and weekend work, averaging 45-50 hours weekly. The role involves working independently with occasional assistance from the lab manager. Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Beech Grove, IN. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.75/hr. Requirements Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
