Location: Canfield Ofc OH Job Req ID: 15894 Join Our Amazing Team And Contribute As a Lab Technician About The Role Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Lab Technician at the Canfield, OH, Lab. This position is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment in the laboratory to ensure materials are processed, tested, and sorted according to quality and safety standards. Perform routine sampling, laboratory testing, and accurate documentation of results to support production efficiency and product compliance. What You'll Accomplish Conduct routine laboratory tests on aggregate materials to verify compliance with quality and industry standards. Collect and prepare material samples from the deliveries for quality assurance. Record, analyze, and report test results to support production and quality control decisions. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and testing equipment. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements that increase product quality, efficiency, and operational reliability. Monitor aggregate production processes to ensure consistency and specification adherence. Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve material or process issues. Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies. Work under general/minimal supervision; customarily works 70-80% of the time without direct supervision. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. Michigan Certified Aggregate Technician Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment. What We're Looking For Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field. Relevant laboratory certifications or training in material testing are a plus. Required Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of laboratory or quality control experience, preferably in aggregate, construction materials, or industrial manufacturing environments. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to visit other production sites, quarries, or client locations for sampling, testing, or audits. Proficiency in laboratory testing techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis. Strong understanding of aggregate materials and experience in laboratory testing and analysis. Ability to accurately collect, prepare, and test samples from the production line. Proficiency in operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory and testing equipment. Knowledge of quality control standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and follow established procedures. Self‑motivated, reliable, and capable of working in an industrial or quarry environment. Additional Requirements Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
