We are a prosthetic and orthotic company located in the midwest searching for a dependable Orthotic and Prosthetic Fabrication Technician for our central fabrication lab in Merrillville, IN. This is an entry-level, full-time position, great for someone searching for a rewarding career.

The hours are Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm. We offer on-the-job training, sick/vacation time, health benefits, paid holidays, and 401K with a company match.

Job Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair custom prosthetic and orthotic devices creating artificial limbs
• Sawing, carving, cutting, grinding wood, plastic, and metal
• Using various hand tools
• Working with sheet plastic and fiberglass
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Working with your hands
• Attention to detail

Requirements:

• Must be mechanically inclined
• Flexible to travel to other company locations
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have organizational, time management, and planning skills
• Must have great interpersonal and verbal skills
• Ability to work effectively as a team member

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Experience working as a handyman is a plus
• Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and machinery
