Prepare parts and equipment for testing procedures. Conduct testing as required and report any non-conformance to the manager. Accurately complete required paperwork and follow through as required. Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping. Perform other tasks as designated by the position. Care for and protect customers inventory; perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent loss or damage. Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism. Position Details Location: Romulus, Michigan Labor type: Lab Technician C Shift & Training: 6:00 am 2:30 pm for 90 days of training, then 2:00 pm 10:30 pm, Monday-Friday; weekends as required. Schedule note: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year in a lab or related position. Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, inspection, and related subjects. Ability to use RC hardness tester and other testing equipment as required. Computer experience and a good understanding of basic math; knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases. May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Physical & Mental Demands Work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment. Manual dexterity for data entry; ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach. Lift up to 50 lbs. Potential exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity. Ability to communicate effectively, read documents and screens, and hear in person and over the phone.
