Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Labor & Delivery for a top healthcare client in Dickson, TN.

This leadership role oversees the Labor and Delivery department during night shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. The CNC functions as both a Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager, supporting staff coordination, patient throughput, and adherence to hospital standards while fostering a culture of teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care.
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and patient flow for efficient department operations.
  • Act as the on-site leadership resource for Labor & Delivery, NICU, and Mother-Baby units during overnight hours.
  • Provide bedside support, including delivery assistance and OR scrubbing as needed.
  • Collaborate with management and educators to improve patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and performance outcomes.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Monitor supply levels, manage scheduling, and ensure compliance with hospital labor productivity goals.
  • Support adherence to hospital policies, patient safety initiatives, and clinical quality standards.

Requirements

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
  • Prior leadership experience in Women’s Health, L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby units required

Certifications/Licenses

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire

Skills or Competencies

  • Strong leadership and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask in a high-acuity environment
  • Excellent communication and mentoring abilities
