We are hiring a Laboratory and Research Analyst II for one of our clients in Ewing, NJ.
Job Description:
- Knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, immunology, or other field of knowledge involving extensive laboratory analyses.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, reagents, and techniques.
- Ability to analyze routine laboratory problems, organize assigned work, and develop effective work methods.
- Ability to make varied routine laboratory analyses in accord with standard and prescribed procedures.
- Ability to observe precautions and do the precise, accurate work required in receiving, identifying, labeling, analyzing, and shipping samples.
- Ability to use laboratory equipment, utensils, materials, and supplies in such a manner as to avoid breakage, deterioration, and loss.
- Ability to maintain records and files.
- Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
Education required:
- Successful completion of 60 semester hour credits from an accredited college or university which shall have included 24 semester hour credits in the biological and/or physical sciences.
Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement:
- NOTE: Successful completion of a certificate program in Clinical Laboratory Technology may be substituted for the above education.
- NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required credits or certificate in Clinical Laboratory Technology may substitute two (2) years of experience as a technician in a public health, hospital, clinical, or research laboratory performing bacteriological, chemical, histological, serology, and/or virological tests.
- Also, candidates for a position at the BTRL may be subjected to pre-and/or post-employment alcohol and drug testing. If these requirements are not met, we reserve the right to terminate employment.
Work hours:
- 9-5 p.m.
- Lunch period: 1 hour
