Job Description:
Duties:
- The disease trait discovery team at RTP is looking for a candidate with suitable experience to join our team as Lab Assistant.
- Team members typically spend their time collecting plant tissue and plant phenotypic data in the greenhouse, as well as maintaining plant pathogen cultures and conducting experiments in the lab.
- Willingness to work in a greenhouse environment is key, as well as comfort working in a lab setting.
- Understandably, a candidate may not have extensive experience in all the above, however a curious and ready to learn candidate will also be considered.

- Microbiology, particularly sterile culture of fungi and bacteria.
- Wet lab skills including PCR/gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, and leaf infiltration.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Completed or soon to be complete bachelor level degree in biology, horticulture, or a related field.
Education:
- May require a bachelor's degree
