No, strictly Microbiology Required/Preferred: Years of experience REQ: I would prefer applicants with at least 3 years experience First-timers accepted: yes Education/Cert Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline. Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP BOC or equivalent or relevant specialty lab certification. Experience Highly Preferred: Micro and Beaker experience. Experience REQ: Culture set up and Gram stain reading and reporting, PCR Testing Details on position: Looking for experience in plating, reading Gram stains, and performing rapid molecular testing (BioFire Torch panels and Cepheid assays) Miscellaneous Radius rule? Yes, 60 miles. Are locals accepted? Yes, on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate. RTO Restrictions for Client Offers: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs. Guaranteed Hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. Medical Technologists support high quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. MTs prepare specimens for testing, perform routine laboratory tests, perform specialized laboratory tests, perform quality control, troubleshoot quality control errors and maintenance procedures, recognize and evaluate computer data problems, troubleshoot laboratory instruments, perform preventative maintenance, communicate technical information to medical and lay persons, assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures, participate in continuing education, recognize normal and abnormal values, and model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities
