LOCATION: 54943 N Main St, Mattawan, MI 49071 (Onsite)
DURATION: 6 Months with possibility of extension


WORKING HOURS: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (some overtime possible; may start early at 6:00 AM)

DRESS CODE: Casual Office Attire

REPORTS TO: Supervisor or above

JOB SUMMARY

The Laboratory Records & Specimen Archives Associate / Archival Technician is responsible for developing and applying acquired job skills needed to support the receipt, login, distribution, disposal, and oversight of materials submitted for archival purposes. This includes managing study-related records, biological specimens, and samples, and supporting the archival workflow by storing, distributing, tracking, and maintaining materials within the archive management system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform and document all procedures, materials, and results in compliance with applicable regulatory standards (protocols, methods, SOPs, data integrity requirements).
  • Identify and communicate any issues with data accuracy, completeness, or compliance to management.
  • Follow archive security procedures and maintain the integrity of archived materials.
  • Organize, file, and retrieve facility and study-related records, biological specimens, and samples.
  • Assist internal and external customers with requests for both current and finalized study materials.
  • Utilize the archival management system for indexing, tracking, and maintaining materials.
  • Review departmental and study-specific data to ensure adherence to SOPs, protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all regulatory requirements for retention, storage, and disposal of archived materials.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • HS/GED/Associate s degree with 1 2 years of relevant experience.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Computer-savvy, with the ability to learn a validated system.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours including evenings/weekends if required.
  • Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Light box lifting and handling of physical materials.
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of following structured procedures.

WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform general office procedures including standing/sitting for long periods, data entry, handling files, and using standard office equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE as needed.
  • Must meet vision requirements including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
