POSITION SUMMARY The Laboratory Technician position will be in the Refining Analytical and Development organization located in Catlettsburg, KY. This position will support refineries and terminals by performing routine analytical testing of crude oil and hydrocarbon samples in a high-throughput environment. The position is primarily M-F day shift but may require overtime and weekend coverage. This position may require minimal travel. RESPONSIBILITIES Executes analytical testing with strict SOP adherence, ensuring accurate results and efficient workflow optimization. Prioritizes testing based on LIMS backlog and analytical requests; manages sample distribution and precise data entry. Evaluates data for trends and anomalies; communicates atypical results, instrument issues, and off-spec findings. Reviews and resolves SQC chart alarms; prevents excursions by monitoring instrument behavior across shifts. Performs equipment maintenance, calibrations, and inventory management; supports daily lab operations. Upholds safety protocols and documentation standards; contributes to safety initiatives. Collaborates with technicians and chemists to meet lab and reporting needs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree with 16 hours of college-level chemistry required.
