Industry: Manufacturing Combustible Ordnance and Countermeasures Job Overview Title: Laboratory Technician Job Family: Inspection and Calibration Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor Works with: mid‑level managers and supervisors, employees Location: Coachella, California Type: Full‑Time Job Summary Conducts routine and special chemical & physical tests. Uses various laboratory apparatus, equipment and instruments that involve understanding of reading dials and scales and proper handling and use of chemicals. Lifts and carries containers of chemicals and other materials, samples, apparatus and delicate instruments. Reports results of work verbally, in writing, and by computer. Prepares and standardizes chemical reagents. Calibrates measuring instruments. Keeps the laboratory clean and orderly. Conducts work in a safe manner and follows all safety rules and procedures. Primary Responsibilities Conduct work safely, in an orderly and systematic manner. Learn to analyze and measure samples precisely and accurately, and report results accurately and promptly. Communicate effectively in written or oral English language. Clean laboratory apparatus and general areas of the laboratory. Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above. Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies. Armtec Competencies Demonstrate ability in the Armtec competencies as an employee: customer focus, ethics and values, problem solving, integrity and trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action‑oriented, composure and values diversity. Qualifications College chemistry and math; pass a basic chemistry and math test. Ability to work in a logical and methodical manner. Ability to understand and follow procedures on testing and safety. Proficient computer skills of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and database systems. Ability to communicate in written and oral English language. Ability to learn in handling laboratory chemicals, apparatus, and other instruments. Strong skills in time management and outstanding attention to detail. Able to work together as part of a team. Must be dependable, flexible, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively. Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government. Successful completion of college chemistry is desired.
