Uses various laboratory apparatus, equipment and instruments that involve understanding of reading dials and scales and proper handling and use of chemicals. Lifts and carries containers of chemicals and other materials, samples, apparatus and delicate instruments. Reports results of work verbally, in writing, and by computer. Prepares and standardizes chemical reagents. Calibrates measuring instruments. Keeps the laboratory clean and orderly. Conducts work in a safe manner and follows all safety rules and procedures. Primary Responsibilities Conduct work safely, in an orderly and systematic manner. Learn to analyze and measure samples precisely and accurately, and report results accurately and promptly. Communicate effectively in written or oral English language. Clean laboratory apparatus and general areas of the laboratory. Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
