ImperativeChemical Partners has an immediate opening for a Lab Technician, Technical Laboratories. SUMMARY The Lab Technician, Technical Laboratories supports the development and evaluation of oilfield chemical products by conducting laboratory performance testing and product characterization. This role focuses on bench testing of scale, corrosion, and paraffin control chemistry, ensuring product effectiveness and quality through standardized laboratory methods. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Perform performance testing of oilfield chemical products, including scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, and paraffin control agents. Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate product performance, compatibility, stability, and treat-rate effectiveness. Prepare chemical solutions, test fluids, and synthetic brines following established SOPs. Utilize analytical and wet chemistry techniques such as titration, pH measurement, viscosity testing, and thermal analysis. Collect, analyze, and document experimental data; generate technical reports and summaries for customer reporting and internal product evaluation. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure proper calibration, and manage chemical inventory. Follow HSE, QA/QC, and laboratory safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with R&D scientists, technical service engineers, and operations teams to support product development and troubleshooting. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE Required: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline. 3-5 years working experience within an oilfield chemical or industrial laboratory environment. Hands‑on experience with bench‑scale chemical testing or laboratory analytical work. Basic knowledge of oilfield production chemistry (scale, corrosion, paraffin/asphaltene). Familiarity with FTIR or similar analytical instrumentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools. Preferred: 5-10 years working experience within an oilfield chemical or industrial laboratory environment. Knowledge of synthetic brine preparation, corrosion testing (weight loss, LPR, RCE), and scale testing (static bottle, dynamic scale loop). Understanding of chemical compatibility and field application challenges. Ability to manage multiple experiments and meet deadlines.
