Department/Team Description

  • The Radiology Life Cycle Engineering team, as part of the broader device design team, maintains the existing product lines for the Sterile Disposables and Electro-Mechanical parts, assemblies, and drawings for Contrast Media enhanced Medical Imaging (Computed Tomography, Cardiovascular, Magnetic Resonance, and Molecular Imaging modalities).
  • Changes generally consist of updates that can result from regulation changes, fielded product failures, production failures, lab/testing failures, product improvements/enhancements, or departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Team members in the group also include Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering functions.


Position Summary

  • As a laboratory technician, this individual will be responsible for providing technical support for multiple project teams in Life Cycle Engineering and New Product Development within a Research & Development laboratory space.
  • This role will support the Device Design team, encompassing both radiology and cell gene therapy products in the United States, Germany, and Finland.


Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn/Train to understand and operate test equipment, including but not limited to Instron Universal Test Machines, Crescent Hydraulic Burst-Leak Testers, and Cincinnati Sub-Zero (CSZ) Environmental Chambers.
  • Learn/Train to understand and operate Radiology injector systems across Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MR), Cardiovascular (CV), and Molecular Imaging (MI) modalities.
  • Execute design testing in accordance with established test protocols/methodology.
  • Work within qualified documentation and test systems to access test information and documentation.
  • Provide technical support in the development of test methods, including the specification and establishment of necessary test equipment and fixturing.
  • Attend meetings, when necessary, to provide technical support input in life cycle and development test efforts.


Qualifications and Competencies

  • Associate’s degree, 2-year trade/military school, or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to work within the Radiology laboratory space with and alongside other technicians across the Sterile Disposables and Electro-Mechanical disciplines.
  • Possess analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in the scope of relevant design testing, including the development of creative solutions to tackle more challenging problems.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects, understand priorities of assigned tasks, and plan daily activities accordingly. This includes the ability to organize and execute this work efficiently in accordance with specified project/deliverable timelines.
  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams in the Design organization, including both radiology and cell gene therapy products/applications.
  • Proven competencies with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
