Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum 2-year technical degree or 2-3 years associated work experienceRequired proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.Ability to use SolidWorks is desiredPlus:Prior experience testing materials for a processing plant or manufacturing plantFork lift certifiedJob DescriptionThe Product Development Technician will serve as a key resource within Advanced Development for creating prototypes of new spring / support concepts as well as new mattress and sleep system constructions. This includes everything from ordering and/or making components, assembling prototypes, and testing / evaluating / analyzing test data. This position be a source of knowledge on spring design and mattress construction and will provide support to the other parts of the organization on these topics.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Build prototypes of new spring and support design concepts.Build prototypes of new mattress and foundation design conceptsTest prototypes to design requirements and document best practices for specification developmentEvaluate current product against existing specifications for quality confirmationProvide project support for AD engineers and specialists.Evaluate, test and document product iterationsEnter various build and test requests as neededOrder, coordinate delivery, receipt and organization of raw materials needed to support buildsAssist in maintenance of the Lab 6S ProgramMaintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary informationCrosstrain with other Lab facilities (NPD and Test Service Labs) and provide support as assignedPerform other duties as assigned.
