ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Land Use and Zoning Attorney, you will provide strategic legal counsel on a range of matters related to real estate, zoning, and land use regulations. Your work will support economic development and community safety throughout Chicagoland.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advise clients on real estate, zoning, and land use matters in the City of Chicago, Cook County, Lake County, and DuPage County, including property acquisition, development strategy, zoning, annexation, and code compliance.
• Offer strategic counsel on land use regulations, zoning ordinances, development agreements, annexations, and other related matters.
• Represent clients before municipal and county boards on map or text amendments, special uses, variations, and appeals related to zoning and building determinations.
• Handle administrative adjudication hearings across Chicagoland and occasionally participate in land use litigation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Licensed attorney in Illinois.
• 3-5 years of experience in land use, zoning, municipal law, or real estate litigation.
• Strong writing, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
• Proven experience representing clients before municipal and county boards on zoning matters, as well as at administrative adjudication hearings.
