Position Overview

The Landscape Designer / Sales Professional serves as the primary contact for design/build clients, guiding projects from initial consultation through final installation. This role blends creative design expertise with strong sales ability, project coordination, and relationship management.

The ideal candidate is both a skilled designer and confident sales professional who can develop conceptual plans, present proposals, close projects, and collaborate closely with operations to ensure successful execution. This position plays a critical role in driving revenue growth while delivering an exceptional client experience.


Key Responsibilities

Client Development & Sales

  • Generate and qualify leads to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
  • Cultivate relationships with homeowners and commercial clients to drive new business
  • Conduct on-site consultations to assess client needs, site conditions, and project feasibility
  • Develop and present compelling design concepts and sales proposals
  • Close projects and manage client expectations throughout the sales and installation process
  • Identify and sell enhancement opportunities to improve project scope and client outcomes
  • Accurately track and report sales activities and pipeline progress

Design & Estimating

  • Create conceptual landscape designs, layout plans, and supporting documentation
  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing
  • Ensure design intent aligns with budget parameters and client expectations

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with operations, production teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Conduct site visits during installation to verify quality, progress, and adherence to design
  • Address client questions or concerns promptly and professionally
  • Ensure projects meet established standards for craftsmanship, scheduling, and profitability

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to align sales commitments with operational capabilities
  • Support company initiatives that enhance service delivery and growth
  • Contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented team culture


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape design within a design/build environment
  • Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial landscape construction practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (or similar design software), and CRM systems
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
